Timesing and dotting-on

Timesing

Timesing is a technique used by 'takers off' in the situation where dimensions are repeated. Frequently this will occur when making adjustments for items such as windows and door openings, as illustrated below.

Dotting-on

Dotting on is a technique used to add additional items to ones already measured. In the example illustrated the first dimension has previously been timsed by 2 and then a further 3 have been dotted on to make a total of 5 times.
