This new 445,000 ft2 warehouse development by Gazeley Limited included 11 environmental initiatives that together save 156 tonnes of CO2 per annum and reduce the overall office water requirements by 45%, incorporating:

  • wind turbine;
  • photovoltaic panels around the car park to provide power;
  • local provenance vegetation;
  • wall vegetation to reduce heat gain in summer;
  • pervious paving to allow water to percolate back into the groundwater;
  • precast concrete dock faces;
  • 15% rooflights to reduce lighting demand;
  • recycled and rapidly renewable finishes to office;
  • solar thermal hot water system;
  • roof water collection;
  • low flush volume products in WC area.
