A mixed use scheme of offices and residential use on a brownfield site, designed by architects Bill Dunster, it was the first carbon-neutral large scale community in the UK:

  • sourcing saved 2% of embodied energy and 40 miles per delivery;
  • no additional cost, including management time;
  • durable timber frame windows saved 6% of environmental impact over uPVC, 12.5% saving of embodied energy;
  • 15% reclaim/recycle rates;
  • procurement of local low-impact materials has reduced embodied energy of the scheme by 20-30%;
